Did you ever have one of those days, where everything just goes so well that you feel it deep down in your soul, that God has just given you one of those days:)
First off, my granddaughter brought the mail in earlier than usual, and there it was, my first check for my book. Not only was it my very first sale, he paid for the S&H even though I have stated that I would take care of the tax & the S&H. That isn't all, he sent it in a Hallmark thank you card that said I was the greatest. Isn't that just the sweetest thing! No, it isn't a question. Well sweet William, I have news for you, As my first sale ever, I am putting that check and card in a frame, so there!
Next Kat and I took a bus to Port Richie to have lunch with Steven's parents. It was Kat's first time meeting them. I told her she would love them, and of course, as always, I was right. I knew that they would love her and said so.
We got to the restaurant a half hour early, I told Kat that I wanted to go in to pay for the four of us as Steven's dad always picked up the check. Kat jumped up and ran in. She paid with her Student One card, and said, "You do the same thing!" Such a sweet kid.
We spent the next two and half hours with them and when it was over, well, let's just say, we didn't want to part. They agreed that it feels like we are close blood relatives. Several years ago, this couple was an answer to my fervent prayers and I still, thank God for them.
Hey Steven, I see you lurking there in the shadows, don't forget who I am and that I know you better than anyone. FYI your parents and I have joined forces and are praying for you always.
I can't say who loves you more, probably them, but I am very close to their lead. You have no excuse to be such a "Prodigal Son"" so get over yourself. We aren't about to let you go!
When I got home, I sent the pictures we'd taken to them and then looked up James Claude Daugherty. That was Jack Daugherty's father. You know, the baseball player. Yep, that's the one!
